Our story
Happy Tails grew from something pretty simple: loving animals and knowing how much better a day can be when someone is there to give them a little attention. We know that leaving your pets behind isn’t always easy. You want someone who will actually notice when your dog is having an off day, spend a little extra time with your cat, and treat your home with the same care they’d give their own.
With six months spent in San Diego and six months in Hawaii each year, Happy Tails offers pet sitting and dog walking in both locations, primarily serving the Kailua area while on Oahu. Wherever we are, our approach stays the same: thoughtful, reliable care that helps pets feel comfortable and owners feel at ease.
That’s the kind of pet care we wanted to offer. Nothing complicated or impersonal—just dependable visits, good walks, and someone your pets can get to know and look forward to seeing.
The Little Things Matter
Every pet has their own personality and their own routine. Some dogs are ready to head out the door the second we arrive, while others need a minute to warm up. Some cats want attention; others are perfectly happy knowing we’re nearby. We pay attention to those little things and let each visit be about what your pet actually needs that day.
For us, a successful visit isn’t just checking a box that says “pet cared for.” It’s knowing they got some exercise, had some company, were comfortable at home, and maybe even got a few extra belly rubs along the way. And when you come home to a happy pet, we know we’ve done our job.
